Packing
Time Required: About 10 Minutes
1. Fold Your Helix
Fold your Helix and remove the seatpost.

2. Detach Fork
Unscrew the stainless steel thumbscrew about 10mm.

Pull rubber bumper away from it’s seated position to touch the screw.

Push down on the fork to separate it from the fork crown. Uscrew the thumbscrew a little more if needed.

Your fork should now be in the position below.

Remove the helix holder and screw in thumbscrew all the way so that you don’t lose it.

Put the helix holder into the storage pouch or in a safe place.

Lock the fork crown to reduce the folded size and to minimize the chance of the knob getting scratched in transit.

3. Detach Steerer
With the steerer unlocked and in the upright position, press the steerer pin release button.

While pressing the button, pull out the pin.

Detach the steerer and reinsert the pin by pushing it back in. The pin should be reinserted so that it doesn't get damaged.

Position the steerer as shown below.

Locate the steerer protector.

Install the steerer protector.

4. Place in Travel Case
Lift your bike by grabbing both wheels with your right hand and by grabbing the main triangle, steerer and rear wheel with your left hand.

Place the bike in the case in the orientaion shown below. The case was designed to work properly with your bike in this orientation only.

5. Secure Steerer
Locate the velcro straps and bungee cords.

Use a bungee cord to clamp the chain and move the derailleur out of the way to make space for the handlebar.

Use the shorter velcro straps to secure the steerer to the rear wheel at the 3 locations shown below. Use moderate force on the straps for a strong hold.

Use the bungee cords to strap the brake levers closer to the grips.

Use the longer velcro straps to secure the wheels. Try to make the wheels parallel and use just a light force on the straps.

Optional 6. Rotate brake levers and shifter
You may need to rotate the brake levers and shifter to a lower position so that they are further away from the wall of the case and better protected from impacts.
A distance of about 25mm away from the wall of the case is good (red line). Many riders will find that this position is actually better for riding comfort and control.
Loosen the brake lever and shift lever scews and rotate them to a lower position. Tighten Formula levers to 4Nm and Avid levers to 5Nm.

7. Attatch EVA foam stabilizer and Rotate Pedals
Locate the EVA foam stabilizer.

Tilt your bike on an angle and push the EVA foam stabilizer on to the frame. The EVA foam stabilizer prevents your bike from rocking during transit.

You may need to rotate the pedals if they have moved while packing.

Temporarily remove the bungee cord that is clamping the chain. Tilt your bike and rotate the crankarm, then reinstall the bungee cord.

8. Place seatpost in Case
Separate the seatpost and saddle and optionally wrap both parts in a cloth and place them beneath your bike. If you have an older seatpost version, then it needs to be packed separately.

Optional 9. Remove Derailleur
If you are travelling by airplane, train, ship or by other means where your travel case may be thrown around or abused, you must remove the derailleur/chain tensioner to prevent damage to the derailleur and hanger.
Put on the included gloves so your hands don’t get dirty.

Pull the derailleur cage to release the chain tension.

IMPORTANT! - Remove the chain from the chainring and cassette otherwise you may damage the chain or derailleur screw in the next steps.

Shift into the smallest cog to move the derailleur up and away from the handlebars.

Use the included 5mm hex key to unscrew the derailleur mounting screw (turn counter-clockwise).

If your derailleur has a removable screw then attach it to the included screw holder. Use enough force so that it doesn’t come loose in transit.

Use a bungee cord to secure the derailleur to the spokes and optionally use a cloth to wrap the derailleur to protect the spokes and rims.

Put the chain back onto the chainring to help prevent the teeth from puncturing the side of the case.

10. Close the Case
Place the pouch into the case and zip up the case. Tuck in the rubber protection flaps as you pull the zippers past them.

Place zipper pull handles into the lock. All Done!

Unpacking
Time Required: About 5 Minutes
1. Open the Case
Unlock the combination lock and push the button to release the zipper pull handles

Unzip and open the case.

Optional 2. Reinstall Derailleur (skip this section if you didn't remove your derailleur)
Put on the included gloves so your hands don’t get dirty.

If your derailleur has a removable screw then remove the screw from the screw holder.

With the chain still removed, align the derailleur onto the hanger. Use the included 5mm hex key to gently turn the derailleur mounting screw clockwise.

Mount the chain onto the cassette at the nearest cog and then pull the derailleur cage to release the tension on the chain and mount the chain onto the chainring.

3. Remove EVA foam stabilizer
Tilt your bike on an angle and remove the EVA foam stabilizer.

4. Remove Straps and Bungee Cords
Remove all the velcro straps and bungee cords.

5. Remove bike from Travel Case
Lift your bike by grabbing both wheels with your right hand and by grabbing the main triangle, steerer and rear wheel with your left hand.

Place your bike on the floor.

6. Re-attach Steerer
Remove the steerer protector.

Pull out the steerer release pin by pressing the release button and pulling out the pin.

Place the steerer in the upright position aligning the hinge holes and push the pin in all the way.

Lock the steerer in the riding position.

7. Re-attach Fork
Unlock the fork crown and unscrew knob all the way.

Locate the helix holder and and unscrew the thumbscrew about 10mm and pull rubber bumper forward to touch the screw.

Reinstall the helix holder onto the fork in the orientation below.

If you push the helix holder in all the way it should match the position below.

Rotate the helix holder back out a bit and then squeeze the helix holder up to the fork crown to click in place.

Uscrew the thumbscrew a little more if needed.

Screw the thumbscrew in tightly when completed.

Your fork connection may still be a bit loose as shown below with a larger than normal gap at the fork crown.

To fix this, lock the fork crown lock to straighten it out, then screw in the thumbscrew further. Use gloves to get a better grip. The connection should be ok now.

8. Install Seatpost and Complete Unfolding
Reassemble the seatpost.

Insert the seatpost into the frame and clamp the quick release lever.

Unfold the swingarm and reset the gears by lifting the rear wheel and rotating the crankset to allow the derailluer to shift into it's desired gear. Ready to ride!
